What Hindustan Calculator is for
Hindustan Calculator is a free collection of online calculators for the sums Indian families, students and builders actually do. Not a generic maths site, but the questions that come up at home, on site and before admissions: Is there a Raj Yoga in my kundli? How many tonnes is 3 brass of sand? What percentage is my SGPA? How much EMI will this loan cost?
Each calculator follows the rule of the system it belongs to: classical Vedic texts for kundli yogas, IS codes and Indian site units for construction, the published regulation of each university or exam board for marks, and Income Tax Department slabs for tax. Where systems disagree (and with CGPA-to-percentage rules, they often do), we show which rule we used instead of hiding it.
Is this better than a normal online calculator?
For everyday arithmetic, any calculator works. Hindustan Calculator is useful when the sum depends on an Indian rule a basic calculator doesn't know: brass and CFT, Guna Milan out of 36, TNEA cut-off out of 200, IGNOU's 30/70 weighting, or the old vs new tax regime.
How we build and check each calculator
- One clear source per rule. Brick sizes follow IS 1077, concrete grades IS 456, steel weights IS 1239/4923 at 7,850 kg/m³; marks follow each university's notification.
- Worked examples you can check by hand. Every guide shows the formula and at least one example, so you can verify the answer with pen and paper.
- Private by design. Everything is calculated in your browser. We don't ask for sign-up and we don't store what you type.
- Reviewed and dated. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. Fix requests sent by WhatsApp or the contact page are checked against the source and corrected.
Spotted a number that doesn't match your marksheet, your engineer's estimate or your panchang? Message us on WhatsApp with the page and the value, and we'll check it against the source.
Hindustan Calculator: FAQ
Is Hindustan Calculator free?
Yes. Every calculator is free to use, with no sign-up and no download. It works in any browser on mobile or desktop.
Which calculators are most used?
The brass calculator (brass to CFT, kg and sq ft), the Raj Yoga and Yoga calculators, the SGPA calculator, the 12th cut off calculator and the Ashtakavarga calculator.
Do you store my birth details or marks?
No. Calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is saved or sent to us.
How accurate are the astrology calculators?
They apply the classical rule for each yoga using the Lahiri ayanamsa. Accuracy depends most on your birth time: house-based yogas need the exact time and place of birth.
Can I use the construction calculators for ordering material?
Yes, for quantities and for checking quotes and deliveries. Structural design (slab thickness, reinforcement) must still come from a qualified engineer.
How do I report a mistake or request a calculator?
Message us on WhatsApp at +1 (416) 781-4285 or use the Contact Us page. Include the page link and the value you expected.
