Formula

SGPA Calculator Formula — Explained Simply

The SGPA calculator formula follows the standard weighted average method used across all UGC-approved universities in India:

SGPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Points) ÷ Σ(Credits)

Example: Subject A (4cr × 9pts) + Subject B (3cr × 8pts) + Subject C (2cr × 7pts)
SGPA = (36 + 24 + 14) ÷ (4+3+2) = 74 ÷ 9 = 8.22

Standard: Percentage = (SGPA − 0.75) × 10
KTU: Percentage = (SGPA × 10) − 7.5
VTU: Percentage = (SGPA − 0.5) × 10
SGPA to CGPA: Average of all semester SGPAs
