How To Use

Step-by-Step: Hindustan RMC Calculator

1

Select Calculator Tab

Choose between RMC Volume Calculator (for finding how many m³ you need), RMC Mix Ratio Calculator (for material quantities per IS 10262), or RMC Cost Estimator for budgeting.

2

Select Structural Element & Grade

In the Volume tab, choose your element type — slab, column, beam, footing, or wall. Select the RMC grade recommended by your structural engineer. M20 is standard for most residential work.

3

Enter Dimensions

Enter length, width, and thickness/depth in meters. For multiple similar elements (e.g., 8 columns), enter the count in “Number of Elements.” Add wastage factor based on site complexity.

4

Get Complete Results

Instantly see your total RMC volume in m³, cement bags required, sand and aggregate quantities, water litres, and number of RMC trucks needed — ready to share with your Ready Mix supplier.

Formula

RMC Volume Calculator Formula Explained

RMC Volume (m³) = Length × Width × Depth × Qty × (1 + Wastage%)

Dry material volume = Wet volume × 1.54 (bulkage factor)
Cement (bags) = [Dry vol × (C/(C+S+A))] ÷ 0.035 m³ per bag
Sand (m³) = Dry vol × S/(C+S+A)  |  Aggregate (m³) = Dry vol × A/(C+S+A)
Example (M20 slab 6×4×0.15m): Vol = 3.6 m³ → Dry = 5.54 m³ → Cement = 31.6 bags, Sand = 0.69 m³, Agg = 1.38 m³
RMC truck capacity: Standard transit mixer = 6 m³ | Mini = 4 m³ | Large = 8–10 m³

Smart Features

Why Hindustan RMC Calculator is Best

Element-Specific Volume

Pre-configured for slabs, columns, beams, footings, and walls — not just a generic L×W×H calculator. The Hindustan RMC calculator adapts dimension labels to your element type for fast, error-free input.

IS 10262 Mix Design

The Mix Ratio tab uses IS 10262 guidelines — the same standard followed by Hindustan RMC, ACC, UltraTech, and other ready mix plants in India. Get cement, sand, aggregate, and water quantities per cubic meter.

Built-in Cost Estimator

The Cost tab calculates total RMC project cost including base rate, pumping charges, transit/delivery, and GST — giving you a realistic procurement budget before calling your RMC supplier.

FAQ

Hindustan RMC Calculator — People Also Ask

What is Hindustan RMC and how is it different from site-mix concrete?
Hindustan RMC (Ready Mix Concrete) is factory-produced concrete manufactured in a central batching plant under controlled conditions and delivered to site in transit mixer trucks. Unlike site-mix concrete, RMC ensures precise water-cement ratio, consistent grade quality, reduced labour costs, faster construction, and compliance with IS 4926 standards. The Hindustan RMC calculator above helps you estimate the volume, material quantities, and cost before placing your RMC order.
How to calculate RMC volume for a slab?
RMC volume for a slab = Length (m) × Width (m) × Thickness (m) × (1 + Wastage%). For example, a 6m × 5m slab with 150mm thickness: 6 × 5 × 0.15 = 4.5 m³. With 5% wastage: 4.5 × 1.05 = 4.725 m³ ≈ 4.73 m³. Use the Hindustan RMC Volume Calculator tab above — select “Slab/Roof”, enter your dimensions, and get the result instantly along with cement bags, sand, and aggregate quantities.
Which RMC grade is best for house construction?
For residential house construction in India: M20 is the minimum grade for RCC slabs, beams, and lintel beams. M25 is recommended for columns and load-bearing structural members. M15 can be used for PCC (plain cement concrete) in levelling and blinding layers. Never use below M20 for any structural RCC member as per IS 456:2000 for moderate exposure conditions. Our Hindustan RMC calculator supports all grades from M15 to M50.
How many RMC trucks are needed for 100 m³ of concrete?
A standard RMC transit mixer truck carries 6 m³ of concrete. For 100 m³: 100 ÷ 6 = 16.67 → 17 truck loads. Mini transit mixers carry 4 m³ (25 loads for 100 m³). Some plants offer 8–10 m³ trucks for large pours — 10 to 13 loads. The Hindustan RMC calculator automatically computes the number of trucks required based on your volume, so you can plan your pour schedule and truck dispatch timing.
What is the water-cement ratio for M20 RMC concrete?
As per IS 456 and IS 10262, the maximum water-cement (W/C) ratio for M20 concrete in moderate exposure is 0.55. RMC plants typically use 0.50–0.55 for M20 with superplasticizer admixtures to maintain workability at lower water content. Higher W/C ratio increases workability but reduces strength. For M25: max 0.50. For M30: max 0.45. Our RMC Mix Design tab shows water quantity per m³ for each grade based on IS 10262 recommendations.
