For many families in Lucknow, Patna or Bhopal, the morning starts with the Hindi akhbaar, and more of them now read it on a phone. Knowing how to read Hindi ePaper online the right way means getting the right city edition from the publisher's own site, quickly and without the risks of forwarded PDFs. This guide covers the practical steps.
How to read Hindi ePaper online: start at the official site
Every major Hindi newspaper runs its own e-paper portal: Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, Hindustan, Rajasthan Patrika, Prabhat Khabar, Punjab Kesari and others. The publisher's site always has the latest edition, the full set of pages, and no malware.
Are e-papers free?
It varies by publisher. Some offer free access to the e-paper or to a limited number of pages; others need a login or a subscription for full access. The publisher's site states its current terms.
Step 2: choose the city edition
Hindi papers print dozens of editions: Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhopal, Indore, Jaipur and many more, each with its own local pages. On the e-paper site, choose the state, then the city, then the date. Local news, obituaries, tenders and exam notices are usually on the city pages, not the national ones.

Step 3: read comfortably on a phone
- Use the page thumbnails to jump to the city or sports pages directly.
- Tap an article where the site supports it; many e-papers open a text view that is easier to read than zooming.
- Save data by using Wi-Fi for full-page downloads; one edition can be tens of MB.
- Bookmark the edition page, not the home page, to skip steps every morning.
Why avoid forwarded PDF groups
- Copyright: newspaper pages belong to the publisher; sharing full PDFs without permission infringes it.
- Security: unknown files and links in groups are a common way to spread malware and scams.
- Staleness: forwarded PDFs are often yesterday's or a different city's edition.
For exam aspirants
Hindi-medium aspirants preparing for UPSC, state PSC or SSC exams often read the editorial and opinion pages daily for current affairs and answer-writing practice. Reading the same edition every day and noting key points works better than skimming several papers.
The Today News page lists official e-paper links for 16 major Hindi newspapers with a state filter and favourites, plus live Hindi headlines. Every link goes to the publisher's own site; nothing is copied or hosted.
