Resin Calculator: Epoxy Resin in ml & Grams for Any Mould

This resin calculator tells exactly how much epoxy resin and hardener to mix, in ml and grams, for a tabletop, river table, coaster or any mould. Enter the size in cm or inches, choose the 2:1 (or 1:1, 3:1) ratio printed on the kit, and get part A and part B separately. A small timer for Genshin Impact Original Resin is included for gamers.

Weights assume both parts have the same density. If the brand gives a weight ratio (e.g. 100 : 45), mix by that number instead.

How much resin do I need? The formula

Resin is sold by weight but poured by volume, which is where most beginners go wrong. Teachers at resin-art workshops in Delhi, Bengaluru and Jaipur start every class with the same three lines:

Rectangle : volume (ml) = length × width × depth (cm)
Round : volume (ml) = 3.1416 × radius² × depth (cm)
Sphere : volume (ml) = 4/3 × 3.1416 × radius³
Weight (g) = volume (ml) × density (about 1.1 g/ml)
1 inch³ = 16.39 ml

Example: a 30 × 20 cm serving tray poured 5 mm (0.5 cm) deep needs 30 × 20 × 0.5 = 300 ml, or about 330 g of mixed epoxy. With a 2:1 kit that is 200 ml resin and 100 ml hardener; add about 10% for what sticks to the cup and the stirrer.

Why add extra resin?

Some resin always stays on the mixing cup, the stick and the mould edges, and surfaces are rarely perfectly level. Ten percent is a sensible margin for small pours; large river tables need less in percentage terms.

1 : 1150 ml150 mlArt resin, thin coats, doming
2 : 1200 ml100 mlGeneral casting, coasters, trays
3 : 1225 ml75 mlSome deep-pour and industrial systems

Some brands give the ratio by weight (for example 100 : 45). If the label says “by weight”, weigh both parts on a kitchen scale using that ratio instead of the volume split; mixing the wrong way leaves resin soft and sticky.

Resin calculator in grams vs ml

Mixed epoxy is a little heavier than water, around 1.05–1.15 g/ml. The calculator multiplies millilitres by the density you enter (1.1 by default) to give grams, which is what most Indian resin kits are sold in (500 g, 1 kg, 1.5 kg combos). For resin calculator in cm sizes, everything is measured in centimetres; switch to inches for imported mould sizes.

Pour depth matters

  • Coating resin: usually 3–6 mm per pour; thicker layers can overheat and yellow.
  • Casting / deep-pour resin: can go 2–5 cm per pour depending on the brand.
  • River tables: pour in layers if the product's maximum depth is less than the river's depth.
  • Room temperature: Indian summers shorten working time a lot; a 35 °C room can halve the pot life given on the label.

Genshin Impact resin calculator

Many visitors searching “resin calculator genshin” want something different: Original Resin in Genshin Impact refills one point every 8 minutes, which is 180 points a day. Switch the calculator to “Genshin resin refill”, enter the current resin and the cap shown in the game, and it shows how long until it is full.

FAQ

Resin Calculator: questions people ask

What does resin calculator 2:1 mean?

It splits the total volume into two parts resin to one part hardener. For 300 ml total, that is 200 ml resin and 100 ml hardener.

How do I calculate resin in ml for a mould?

Multiply length × width × depth in centimetres for a rectangle, or 3.1416 × radius² × depth for a round mould. The result is in ml, since 1 cm³ = 1 ml.

How do I convert resin from ml to grams?

Multiply millilitres by the mixed density, about 1.1 g/ml for most epoxies. 300 ml is about 330 g.

How much resin for a 2 × 2 ft table top?

A 61 × 61 cm top poured 3 mm deep needs about 1.1 litres (about 1.2 kg) plus 10% extra.

What is the Genshin Impact resin calculator?

A timer for the game's Original Resin, which refills 1 point every 8 minutes. Enter current resin and the cap to see when it will be full.
